May buoyant as St Johnstone look forward to Scottish Cup

Stevie May is hoping St Johnstone can write a piece of their own history when they take on Dundee United in the 2013/14 Scottish Cup final next month.

The Perth outfit are into the decider after coming from behind to edge Aberdeen 2-1 at Ibrox on Sunday thanks to a second-half brace from star striker May.

The 21-year old netted in the 61st and 84th minutes following Niall McGinn's early opener and was on cloud nine after helping the Saints book their spot in the May 17 final which will be played at Celtic Park in Glasgow.

"It was a hard-fought win, but it makes it all the sweeter to come from behind," May, who has scored 25 goals in all competitions this season, told Sky Sports.

"To score two goals I can't ask for much more, but the main thing is we're in the final. It's about history for us.

"A lot of people wrote us off before today and they'd have been writing us off even more before half-time, but we managed to come out and win the game."
