Maxi Rodriguez is expected to complete his move to Liverpool today from Atletico Madrid.

The Argentina winger told his Atletico teammates yesterday at training, including Sergio Aguero, that he would be joining Liverpool.

Atletico coach Quique Sanchez Flores had left Maxi out of his line-up for the last two games this week as the midfielder waited on Liverpool to make the deal happen. With cash raised from Napoli's capture of Liverpool fullback Andrea Dossena, Maxi received the green light yesterday that his move to Anfield was on.

Aguero, particularly, is sorry to see former Atletico captain Maxi go as the experienced winger had taken the youngster under his wing upon his arrival in Madrid.
