Max Clayton happy with Bolton move: I won't return to Denmark!

Max Clayton is delighted with his move to Bolton Wanderers.

The former Crewe Alexandra striker had trials with Wolves, Sunderland, and in Denmark before eventually signing for Bolton in September after the two clubs agreed a compensation package, believed to be in the region of £300,000.

"It was all a bit dramatic. Crewe were brilliant for me from start to finish but I just felt it was time to go," Clayton told The Bolton News.

"When you've been at a club for so long they are bound to want some compensation, I certainly don't blame them for it.

"But I was really glad when they eventually agreed with Bolton because it has turned out to be a perfect move."

Clayton's pre-season also saw him spend time with Danish side FC Midtjylland, an experience Clayton says he doesn't look back too fondly on the trip.

"I did end up in Denmark. That wasn't a nice trip but I had to go for a few days.

"It's a funny place but I met some nice people. I don't want to go back, though."
