Stefano Mauri says Lazio aren't setting themselves any limits as they sit top of the table.

The midfield schemer also hailed the influence of coach Edy Reja in their surprise start to the season.

"Reja is a Coach who makes the most out of his resources," Mauri told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"As for me, I have only started doing my job once my confidence was restored.

"A show of affection has helped and it has given me responsibility. I feel Lazio like they are my team. I hope to close my career here. Being the captain is fantastic.

"I am happy for me, but I am even happier for what Lazio are doing.

"After the horrible season we had last year, we deserved to carve out some satisfaction for ourselves. We must ask ourselves questions like: 'How long will it last?' For now we are calm and having fun.

"We must keep going week after week without any nagging. We mustn't think about the objectives, nor about posing limits for ourselves.

"We'll see where we are in the spring."
