The agent of Lazio midfielder Stefano Mauri has welcomed reports linking him with Napoli.

Napoli sports chief Pierpaolo Marino is keen on Mauri and his agent, Tiziano Gonzaga, said: "If he was to get an offer from Napoli, Stefano would run there, not only because the team is great and those who love football cannot refuse to play at the San Paolo, but mainly because he is a player who needs confidence and esteem.

"And Marino has confidence and esteem for Stefano."
