Juventus striker Alessandro Matri has hit out at critics of their attack.

It is no secret that the club have tried and failed to sign a big name striker for over two years now.

"If you look at the situation carefully, you understand who wants the top player more out of the club and the media," Matri said.

"It seems like the latter to me. That's why we are criticised in an exaggerated manner.

"There is no top player here, there is a squad that works as a unit. Us attackers work to score, but also work to create goals.

"Unfortunately you like to criticise our attack and not highlight the work it does. But you have to deal with criticism when you play for Juventus, you have to respond to it on the pitch."
