Matildas to face Japan in Women's Asian Cup semi-final

The Westfield Matildas will take on Japan in the final four of the AFC Women's Asian Cup.

After finishing second in Group B following their three group stage matches, Australia will meet Group A winners Japan on Thursday, May 27 at Chengdu Sports Centre in China and it can be seen at 6pm AEST, live and exclusive on ABC2.

In the group stage, the Matildas finished with a record of two wins and a loss to finish one point behind China who they lost to in their final match.

The winner of the Australia v Japan clash will go through to the final and automatically qualify for the 2011 Women's World Cup in Germany whilst the lose will go into the 3rd v 4th match for the final World Cup spot.
