Juan Mata is confident that Manchester United will be pushing for the Premier League title in 2014/15.
The Red Devils dropped dramatically off the pace this season, ending up in seventh position after winning the 2012/13 title, following the arrival of David Moyes from Everton at the beginning of the campaign.
This year, United face an element of uncertainty going into summer following the recent sacking of Moyes and with rumours heavily linking Holland boss Louis van Gaal to the job.
Regardless of what occurs in the Old Trafford board room, Spanish midfielder Mata is full of belief that he and his teammates can be celebrating this time next year just as their neighbours Manchester City were after clinching a second title in three seasons.
"At United, if you don't win the Premier League one year you know you have to do it the next time, and we will get ready for that," said Mata.
"I believe it's fair to congratulate Manchester City for winning for the title. We will try to bring the celebrations to our side the next year."
