Mata eyeing positive Man Utd run in wake of Derby FA Cup win

Juan Mata is hopeful of a Manchester United revival following Friday night's 3-1 FA Cup victory over Derby County.

United have endured a very poor run of form of late but they did manage a bit of a respite recently with a comfortable win over Championship side Derby in the fourth round of the cup.

United did put in a much more convincing performance and now midfielder Mata has gone on to express his hope that the Red Devils will now be able to use the performance at Pride Park as a platform for further improvement in the coming weeks.

Ahead of Tuesday's clash with Stoke City, Mata said: "January is now over. It hasn't been an easy month, but our victory in Derby leaves a good taste because it means a boost of energy for us.

"We move onto the next round of the FA Cup and also the team had good feelings and I think we played a good match. It was a very positive win with a more dynamic, fluid style that we hope to maintain from now on.

"There is no time to enjoy the win in the FA Cup because we are already focused on our game against Stoke. We move onto the next round of the FA Cup and also the team had good feelings and I think we played a good match.
