Mata eager to give something back to Man Utd fans

Juan Mata believes the Manchester United side owes the supporters something this Tuesday night.

The seventh-placed Red Devils appear for the final time this season at Old Trafford when Hull City come to town tomorrow night and the Spanish midfielder feels the fans need to be rewarded for their continued support in a very tough season for last season's champions.

"I was unhappy with the result, but the good thing is that on Tuesday we play again in Old Trafford," Mata wrote in his blog in the wake of Saturday's 1-0 home loss to Sunderland.

"It's our last game at home this season and we want to have a decent farewell in front of our fans, with a good game and a victory.

"They have given us remarkable support throughout the last year and that shows the greatness of the club and the loyalty of our fans in the good and, in particular, the bad moments."

United's clash with Hull is their penultimate fixture for the 2013/14 season which precedes next weekend's trip to Southampton.
