Juan Mata admits David De Gea had a big say in his decision to join Manchester United.

Mata admitted the goalkeeper's messages helped persuade him to swap Chelsea for United.

"David De Gea was important," said Mata. "He was texting me and calling me and wanted me to come here.

"Finally I'm here and I'm glad to be with him. He's a very good guy."
