Massimo Oddo replaces Luigi del Neri as Udinese coach

Massimo Oddo has been named new coach of Udinese.

Oddo takes charge after the dismissal of Gigi del Neri. He arrives from Pescara.

“I thank the club for the opportunity, and also Mr Del Neri," Oddo said today.

“I know that when things aren't going well it's not just just the Coach's fault, I've been there. I'm very happy, this is a club with ambition and great facilities, the training ground and the stadium for example.

“I have my own philosophy and I'm convinced that this squad has good potential, there are individual talents and very promising youngsters who need to improve.

“I'm a Coach that adapts to suit his players and not vice-versa, so I don't have a predetermined formation in mind. It's not that what you've seen in my previous teams will be replicated here.

“I've also asked about some of the young players from the Primavera, from today everyone starts from scratch."
