Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano wants to invite Diego Maradona to Anfield.

Maradona has been lavish in his praise of Mascherano, and the Liverpool player wants to return the compliment by welcoming Maradona to the north-west.

"He is like a god to me and I know my team-mates would all be very pleased, they all want to meet him," said Mascherano.
