Mascherano waiting on new Liverpool deal
Liverpool’s Javier Mascherano says he is waiting to hear from the club in regards to a new contract.
The Argentine midfielder is looking for a long-term stay at Anfield but admits contract negotiations are currently in the hands of Reds officials.
“I'm waiting for an answer from Liverpool," he said.
"They know what I want so it depends on them and not me. We have been talking about the contract."
Mascherano was linked with a move away from the club last summer with Spanish giants Barcelona widely touted as a potential landing pad.
