Javier Mascherano says Liverpool will fight all the way for the title.
The Argentina midfielder told liverpoolfc.tv: "We know it is the only competition we have to play for now and we are fighting for the title.
"We have to keep going and maybe if Manchester United can drop some points we will be there.
"We have to look forward, try to win our next six games and we will see what happens."
Mascherano added: "Always when you go out of a competition you are disappointed, but I think against Chelsea we showed how much we wanted to be in the semi-final. I think we tried to do everything we could.
"Every Liverpool player did well and while I don't want to say the supporters should be happy, because we are out, they have to be proud of the team.
"I don't know if it is an advantage for us to have fewer games left than United and Chelsea. I'd prefer to play in every competition but now we only have one left to focus on.
"I can only talk about Liverpool and if we win all the games that we have until the end, maybe we will have a chance in the Premier League."
