Javier Mascherano says he'll get better for Barcelona.

The former Liverpool midfielder was hooked at halftime on debut in defeat to Hercules on Saturday.

Mascherano was booked during his time on the field and said: "The referees are different here than in England.

"It was a good debut, I must adapt to the league, not the league to me."

Barca coach Pep Guardiola said of Mascherano's performance: "It was good, very good."
