Obafemi Martins was pleased for Jonas Gutierrez after his impressive Newcastle debut on Sunday at Manchester United.

"Jonas played very well, although it was a team effort," Nigeria striker Martins told the Evening Chronicle.

"All of the players did fantastically well, but we are all pleased for Jonas because he is playing in a new league and a new country.

"The Premier League is not like Serie A or La Liga - it is much faster and Jonas and Fabricio Coloccini did very well on their debuts."
