Barcelona coach Tata Martino has made it clear he needs a new striker.
Marca says Martino discussed transfer strategy this week with president Sandro Rosell and sports chief Andoni Zubizarreta.
While the general opinion is Barca are short of defensive cover, the meeting concluded with the agreement that a new striker was more of a priority.
Martino successfully argued that if Carles Puyol could fully recover from his injuries, a new defensive signing would not be necessary.
