Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has revealed manager Roberto Martinez is ready to run his training sessions at night next season.
Whelan knew he was appointing a go-ahead young manager with fresh ideas when he brought Martinez from Swansea to replace Steve Bruce.
But he admits he was startled by the Spaniard's request for floodlights at the club's training headquarters.
Whelan said: "If we have a night match Roberto wants the first-team squad to prepare by training at 7.45pm to replicate the kick-off conditions."
