Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is hoping Victor Moses can start his season against Manchester City this weekend. The teenage forward is set to return to the Latics line-up for Saturday's DW Stadium clash against City after overcoming an ankle injury to play in the reserves midweek.
"It wasn't a major injury, just a soft-tissue problem, and I just hope this can be the start of Victor's season," Martinez told the Wigan Observer.
"If that is the case, he can be a massive, massive asset for this football club."
Moses has scored just one goal since joining Wigan from Crystal Palace in January but has been adopted into a wide role since joining the Latics.
