Martinez transforms Wigan with FA Cup memories

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has transformed the club in the lead up to the FA Cup final.

All 120 pictures dotted around the complex were torn down after their demoralising 3-2 home defeat against Swansea on Tuesday night.

They were replaced with images from their cup run - while the motivational messages were also changed.

Latics defender Paul Scharner revealed: "The manager had the pictures changed in the canteen, the corridors, and the changing rooms to focus everything on the Cup final.

"He has put up photos from the semi-final at Wembley and some of our other FA Cup wins. It was all done overnight which was incredible.

"There is no sign of any of the pictures from the Premier League. They are all about our success story in the cup. We also had a meeting and the gaffer said to put the Swansea game out of our minds and focus solely on the FA Cup final for the rest of this week.

"When we have our training session after the final that is when we can concentrate on our next league match at Arsenal.

"The players were all surprised when they saw it this morning. I was certainly surprised but in a positive way and I think it was the right thing to do."
