Martinez thrilled with Everton showing at Dundee

Everton manager Roberto Martinez was left impressed with his side's performance in their 2-0 win over Scottish club Dundee in a friendly on Tuesday.

Goals from Conor McAleny and Ross Barkley helped the Toffees to a second straight win on Scottish soil following Sunday's 3-1 triumph over Hearts.

"It was a very good exercise," he said. "It has been a really good week in terms of work and it was important against Dundee to get through without injuries. That was the case.

"I think it is important that every single aspect of the performance is of a high standard and I think we saw that. The way we defended throughout, the concentration and the discipline was pleasing.

"Going forward we looked clinical. In the first action, Conor McAleny has shown the way he can finish.

"I was pleased to see more players get through 90 minutes. Overall, it was a really good way of finishing the trip."
