Everton boss Roberto Martinez is confident Romelu Lukaku will be fit for their clash with Southampton.
The Toffees' 18-goal top scorer pulled out of international duty with Belgium because of a hamstring injury picked up in a win over QPR last weekend.
Martinez said: "We're quite positive because of the way Rom usually reacts to these types of treatments and how fit he is as an individual."
Striker Arouna Kone has been re-assured that an injury sustained against QPR does not mean a repeat of the knee trouble that has blighted his Goodison career.
Martinez added: "We were delighted with the results of the scan, which showed first and foremost that Arouna's ankle and knee are really strong."
