Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez says all staff have relegation clauses in their contracts.
Martinez himself will take a serious hit in the pocket if Wigan are relegated - around £300,000 a year.
He said: "There are relegation clauses in all the contracts, including mine.
"But we have never got relegated, so we never need to implement them.
"A club like ours cannot avoid planning for the possibility of relegation because your expenditure cannot remain the same when your income drops.
"But for us, that remains hypothetical. We won't go down and we are going to get great bonuses by winning the FA Cup!"
