Everton boss Roberto Martinez is keen to close a £4 million deal for Ferencvaros milder Muhamed Besic.

The Daily Star says Martinez watched Besic play for Bosnia at this summer's World Cup.

He was impressed by the defensive midfielder and immediately put plans in place to make a move.

The Merseysiders struggled in initial discussions with the Hungarian club but they made a breakthrough this week.
