Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez insists all is not lost, despite their horror season run in.
The Latics must play five of the top seven in their 10 remaining Premier League games.
Martinez said: "I do feel the lads are ready to play against the big teams.
"We drew against Liverpool and Chelsea earlier this season and played well at Old Trafford until a sending off.
"We can compete against anyone in this league - but you've seen why we're in this position.
"We just can't show that little bit of composure or get that little bit of luck in front of goal."
