Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez insists his squad are top eight class.

The Latics lost 4-1 at Chelsea last time out in the league and haven't won a Premier League game in 2013.

Martinez said: "I consider Wigan as a top-eight team.

"I never think about whether we can find three weaker teams. It would be disrespectful to say there are three teams worse than Wigan.

"I hope that it can be more than three that we finish above.

"We are a much better team than we were in previous seasons, technically and tactically."
