Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez was delighted with goal scorer Ivan Ramis in victory over West Ham United.
West Ham were also looking to sign the 28-year-old Spaniard in the summer, and this is the second time he has scored against them after netting in the Capital One Cup last month.
Martinez said: "Probably we'll have to play against West Ham more often. It was as clean a contact as you're going to see, it was a striker's strike.
"So I'm pleased with that but I'm even happier with Ivan Ramis's performance, what he did off the ball, the way he was talking with the others. I think he's developing his communication skills quite quickly and he was a real leader."
