Javi Martinez has welcomed news Athletic Bilbao have a deal for Real Zaragoza midfielder Ander Herrera.

Herrera will join Bilbao in the summer.

Martinez said: "This is great news for everyone, for Athletic, for himself and for the fans. I'm also very glad he could come because he is a very good friend. This is part of the intention to make a great team.

"I realise it has been a difficult investment, because it was worth many millions, but it is okay because he will be worth it."
