Martinez eyes improved Everton away form

Roberto Martinez has called on his Everton side to pick up their results on the road.

The Toffees have saluted just four times away from home this season with their past three fixtures producing losses without troubling the scorers.

On Tuesday, Everton travel to St James' Park to face Newcastle United and Martinez is looking for a response as they continue to chase a top-four position.

"To finish in the top four you need over 70 points. If we can reach anywhere near [that] we can look to see where that could take us," said Martinez in the wake of Saturday's 3-2 home triumph over Swansea City.

"Every position in the table matters. Our focus is to get away points. Our last games have been against top teams, and we haven't got the reward.

"It is not a frustration, but it is important we learn from it and assess it.

"We have got the opportunity to finish the season strong."

Following the Magpies test, Everton are away to Fulham on Sunday before hosting Arsenal on April 6.
