Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is delighted with the spirit his players have shown in their battling season so far.
The Latics have lost nine in a row, and picked up the last of their five points so far against QPR on August 27, when they recorded their only win of the season.
But Martinez said: "I'm extremely proud of the way we face adversity.
"Everything we do is for our fans so we have a real unity about us. We face adversity in a unique way - fans have a moan about results but at the next match everyone is right behind the team.
"The key to our success has been the fact we have a real leader in our chairman. He is an inspiration to everyone.
"A sense of togetherness is one of the reasons why we keep defying those people who say we are certainties to be relegated every season."
