Marseille winger Florian Thauvin says he's learned to handle criticism from Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer.
Shearer questioned whether Thauvin was good enough for the Premier League during his spell with the Toon.
Speaking to La Provence, the midfielder recalled: "I am not a vengeful person. I do things for myself, for my family. But I think I was not allowed time. "There was no miracle or madness. I worked, though. The coach made me doubt things, we talked together every two weeks, he told me that I was close to starting. But at the weekend, he only brought me back three minutes ... I have regrets, because it went wrong, but I especially feel that I was not given my chance or the time I should have.
"The press was not cool with me and a club legend (Alan Shearer) spoke about me. And since he's a legend..."
