Olympique Marseille are exploring the prospect of re-signing West Ham ace Dimitri Payet.

The Frenchman penned a new deal with the Hammers last year, but is considering his options this month.

OM, under the new ownership of Frank McCourt, now boast fresh spending power and are eager to test the ground over bringing Payet back to the club.

Jacques-Henri Eyraud, the OM president, declared: "It sounds crazy, but not impossible."

L'Equipe says Marseille are willing to go as high as €40 million to re-sign Payet, who left in 2015 for €15 million.
