Marseille still hoping for Drogba return

French club Olympique Marseille are still full of hope regarding the return of former star striker Didier Drogba.

The Ivory Coast international spent one season with OM in 2003/04, scoring 32 goals in 55 matches in all competitions, before moving to Chelsea and they have made it clear in the past that he is always welcome back at the Stade Velodrome.

Marseille boss Didier Deschamps admitted that the club tried to lure Drogba back recently and although the bid failed, remained hopeful of a future reuniting between club and player.

"Yes. It's complicated," Deschamps told French TV of the attempted capture. "Maybe one day he will return, but with each year that goes by, it is going to get more and more complicated."
