Marseille's Deschamps: Chelsea dominated us both technically and physically

Marseille manager Didier Deschamps admitted that his former club Chelsea dominated Tuesday night's Champions League match both technically and physically.

The ex-Blues defensive midfielder led his side into battle at Stamford Bridge in the second group stage match of Europe's premier club competition but failed to overcome a powerful Blues unit, losing 2-0, and he was full of superlatives for the opposition.

"We were almost strangled by Chelsea's superiority. We were dominated both technically and physically," said Deschamps.

"We found the first half tough and lacked aggression at times. There was a gap between the teams tonight.

"We tried harder in the second half but they could have added a third. There was a huge difference between the sides."
