Olympique Marseille president Jean-Claude Dassier is happy they turned their back on buying Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano.

At the time of the deal collapsing, Dassier expressed his frustration.

But now he says: "It was a wise decision not to sign him, they asked for a lot of money and you only have to look at his numbers this season.

"It would have been a disaster."

Fabiano has scored just four goals so far this term.
