Olympique Marseille intend to bid for Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny in the coming days.

The Sun says Arsenal's centre-back is the French big spenders No 1 target this summer.

And they have sounded out the 31-year-old's interest in a move back to his homeland.

Marseille plan to test Arsenal's resolve to keep hold of one of their key men after missing out on the Champions League.

Koscielny's Emirates contract still has three years to run so it would take a mega-bid of £30million-plus for the Gunners to even consider selling.

But that will also test Koscielny's desire to stay at the club he joined from Lorient in 2010.
