Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Silva says he's staying with Olympique Marseille.

Marseille attempted to palm him off to Anderlecht last month and there has also been talk of cutting short his loan.

Lucas said in a statement on Facebook:

"The decision to stay with OM was based on my belief that the commitments must be met. Besides, I'm an athlete who has always risen against major challenges, overcoming them multiple times throughout my career.

"It is true that there is interest coming from several clubs in Brazil, to whom I am grateful. However, the return to Brazil, is currently not part of the plans of Real Madrid, or mine. I would like to thank Real Madrid for the support they have given me during this process.

"I also like to take this opportunity to emphasize that I'm staying with OM until the end of my contract and I will continue dedicating myself completely to the club."
