Olympique Marseille goalkeeper Steve Mandanda says the players are upset over the demise of Patrice Evra.
The former Manchester United captain was sacked by OM on the weekend after attacking a fan in Portugal.
Mandanda, who left Crystal Palace in the summer to return to OM, stated: "As a professional player, we have to set an example, and that's certainly not something we want to do.
"But we're still humans and there are things that must not happen. The fans do not have to be at the edge of the field too. Now, I'm disappointed because Pat is really a friend and a good person. We lose a leader and someone important in the group.
"For having talked with him, it was a discussion that took place between the two parties and by mutual agreement, they found the best solution for everyone."
