West Brom boss Tony Pulis confirmed the Premier League club had offered the former Arsenal midfielder a contract but reports in France suggest Diaby will make the move back to Ligue 1.
The midfielder was undergoing a medical with Albion last week.
Diaby came off contract with Arsenal this month.
