Olympique Marseille coach Didier Deschamps harbours ambitions of Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri returning to the club, though he admits at present this is unlikely. Deschamps has claimed that economic reasons were behind the player's departure from the French outfit to north London in 2008, and that Nasri was not keen on the move anyway.
When asked whether he'd like to see Nasri return to his club, Deschmaps told L'Equipe: "Why not? But I think he is doing well exactly where he is!
"He did not want to move to Arsenal. He had just had a very good season.
"When he left, there was an economic need for OM. And when these players go to clubs like Arsenal, we can no longer fight."
Meanwhile, Deschamps was also keen to retain the services of Nigerian defender Taye Taiwo.
"I do not want him to leave. He is in demand because has quality, but for the moment, I do not intend to seek a replacement because I do not want him to go," the coach added.
"But we'll be sure to find the best solution for the player and the club."
