Newcastle United are reportedly considering allowing winger Florian Thauvin to return to Marseille on loan, just six months after signing the 22-year-old from the French outfit.
The Magpies paid Marseille £12million for Thauvin during the summer, but he has since struggled to find his feet at St James' Park.
French publication L'Equipe is reporting Thauvin is eager to return to his native France in the hope of recapturing his best form at the Stade Velodrome.
It is understood all that remains is for Newcastle boss Steve McClaren to sign off on the deal.
