Marseille battling Montreal Impact for Juventus striker Luca Toni

Olympique Marseille are interested in Juventus veteran Luca Toni.

The centre-forward has spent much of the season in the stands and is available from Juve this month.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Marseille coach Didier Deschamps wants to close a deal inside the next ten days - in order to head off competition from MLS's Montreal Impact.

Juve are prepared to grant Toni a free transfer to clear his wages off their books.
