Olympique Marseille have approached Newcastle United over defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
The Evening Chronicle says the 25-year-old is to be offloaded by the Magpies and had been offered to a clutch of French clubs including Lille, Bordeaux and Marseille.
The media in the south of France are today indicating that Marseille have made an "enquiry" for the centre-back.
