Juventus GM Beppe Marotta admits they never had a chance in the battle for Robin van Persie this summer.
Manchester United eventually signed the former Arsenal striker, but not before Marotta gave his agent a tour of Turin and Juve's facilities.
"We had some goals and not all of them have landed: I offer the example of van Persie, who was a steal impossible for an Italian club right now.
"Spending €30 million on a player, not to mention the salary, is not feasible for Juve and for no other club in Serie A."
