Mark Bosnich has turned his back on a documentary about his road to recovery to focus on his professional football career. The former Manchester United, Aston Villa, Chelsea and more recently Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper has decided not to go to Los Angeles to film the documentary.

"I didn't end up going and doing it, and I decided against it as I didn't think it was right to go," Bosnich told the Herald.

"No disrespect to anyone or to the people behind it, but it wasn't the right time. My family and quite a few friends voiced their concerns, so in the end I decided against it because there's no need to go into all that."

Bosnich said he may wait until his career is fully over before going into any depth regarding his battle with cocaine addiction and ensuing recovery, opting to direct his energies into returning to the pitch.

"Of course I want to play, it's something I really want to do. That's another reason why I didn't do the doco as well," he said.

"I don't think, if I'm serious about playing, you can't be going off and doing documentaries like that. That's for a time maybe at the end of your career, or if ever at all."

Bosnich is currently training with Sydney FC in a bid to have himself in peak condition for the upcoming exhibition match in Auckland between an Oceania All-Stars XI and Major League Soccer club LA Galaxy led by Bosnich's former Man Utd teammate David Beckham.
