Pasquale Marino is shocked by his sacking at Genoa.
Marino was axed and replaced by Alberto Malesani this week.
"I don't think the squad decided my dismissal. I refuse to believe that there was a player conspiracy against me, otherwise they never would've tried to fight back at San Siro," he said after a 5-4 defeat to Inter.
"I was bitter and shocked at the news, because I always try to give my all. I don't even want to look for alibis, nor do I want to create controversy, because I was happy in Genoa.
"It's a shame, as if Alberto Gilardino and Miguel Veloso had not been consistently injured, it might've been different and our fixture list would be considerably more reassuring now."
