Marino battling against Udinese complacency

Udinese coach Pasquale Marino is determined to guard against complacency ahead of this weekend's clash with lowly Siena.

"From experience we know that when we fail to approach the game with the right mental attitude or physical preparation we aren't the usual Udinese," he stated.

"We are often better in the second half when we keep possession well, sap the opposition's energy and eventually find spaces, but we need to start quickly."

Marino still can't call upon key midfielders Christian Obodo and Giampiero Pinzi, but his replacements are proving equally adept.

"Once they have recovered, Obodo and Pieri will make a big contribution," he insisted.

"They are both important players for us, but so are Gaetano D'Agostino and Gokhan Inler who are doing really well.

"There will be more competition in the middle of the pitch, but Obodo and Pinzi have the slight disadvantage of having had physical problems."
