Mariners Osman predicts tough contest against Sydney

This weekend sees the Central Coast Mariners in their second 'derby' in a row and midfielder Matthew Osman predicts another hard-fought contest. Last week, the Mariners got an important win over the reigning Premiers, Newcastle Jets; in the second 2007/08 Grand Final replay and this week have the daunting task of travelling to the Sydney Football Stadium to take on a rampant Sydney FC. "It was a good result, the boys battled hard, we got a goal. It's always a tough game against them and to get a win at home against the Jets was a big buzz so hopefully we can take that form into this weekend's game," Osman said of the Newcastle result. Osman was wary of ex-Mariners teammate John Aloisi who scored his first goal with Sydney last week. "He's a quality player and now that he's got a goal, he'll be playing with confidence and probably looking for more against us so let's hope he doesn't get one," Osman added. Knowing it's another cross-town derby, Osman was hoping his teammates could hit back after the Round 2 loss to the Sky Blues but is aware it will not be easy, saying, "They do (the boys), they lift for every game but these games are classified as derbies. The boys want to get out there and give a good performance. We got done (by Sydney) last time around, so hopefully we can get one on them this time. "They've (Sydney) come off a good win down in Melbourne so it's going to be a tough contest and one we're looking forward to."
