Marko Marin admits former Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro convinced him about the Blues.
Peruvian hitman Pizarro endured a difficult spell at Stamford Bridge, scoring just two goals in 21 Premier League appearances from 2007 to 2009.
But it appears he had enough good memories of the experience to convince former Werder Bremen teammate Marin he should switch to the Champions League and FA Cup holders.
German international Marin, 23, said: "He only had good things to say. I asked him how it is here and he still has a house in Cobham.
"He didn't play a lot but he said that he had a great time and he thinks I will enjoy it.
"I think I am an offensive player, more a winger, so I hope I can give a lot of assists to strikers so they score a lot of goals and help the team.
"If you play a team such as Chelsea you want to win trophies, like last year with the Champions League and the FA Cup.
"I think the Premier League is the best league in the world and my aim is to win it."
